Murray backed for the Red Letter Days.

Max Mirnyi feels Andy Murray has the game to capture his second ATP Tour title this week and then go on to prove a hit at Wimbledon. Murray, who won at San Jose in February, swept into the quarter-finals of the Red Letter Days Open at Nottingham with a 7-6 6-4 victory over Mirnyi, last year's beaten finalist.

After a slow start, the 19-year-old Scot produced a dazzling array of forehand and backhand passing shots, and in particular a number of perfectly-executed lobs to defeat an old-fashioned serve-volley player.

The British number two now faces baseliner Andreas Seppi for a place in the last four today.

Belarusian Mirnyi, though, believes Murray can go all the way as he said: 'Given he is healthy and he is a young, up-and-coming player, there is no reason why he can't win here.'
