Murphy is too hot for bogeymen; SNOOKER.

Byline: Hector Nunns

SHAUN MURPHY beat another bogeyman in Berlin to reach his first German Masters final.

The Magician beat China's Liang Wenbo 6-4, winning the last three frames at the Tempodrom and knocking in monster breaks of 145 and 141.

That came less than 24 hours after taking out Ronnie O'Sullivan, who Murphy had never beaten.

The 32-year-old Murphy is the man in form, having won four titles last season and the Masters last month.

It was only a second major semi-final for Liang, 27, who beat Murphy in the last one in Shanghai six years ago.

Murphy said: "That is a couple of bogeymen I have beaten now. Ronnie is a bogeyman for a lot of people but Liang has been awkward for me too.

"I put myself through it again. I made a few mistakes and Liang punished me from 3-0 up. I lost four frames in a row for the second successive match.

"I don't think it is ever going to be easy for me in this game."
