Murder victim was 'dumped in alley'.

THE family of Wirral murder victim Mark Reissing said he was murdered and then "callously dumped in a side alley".

The body of the Wallasey 48-year-old was found with head injuries on Manor Lane, near the junction with Egremont Promenade, in New Brighton, by a dog walker at 5.50am on Tuesday.

A Home Office post mortem indicated he had died as a result of "multiple injuries".

In a statement, released along with a photograph of Mr Reissing today, his family said: Sometime between Monday July 8 and Tuesday July 9 our brother Mark was brutally murdered.

"He was then callously dumped in a side alley near to Egremont Promenade, where he died of his injuries.

"Nobody''s dad, son, brother or uncle deserves such a horrific death.

"If anyone has any information, no matter how trivial it may seem, please contact Merseyside Police to help apprehend the perpetrator or perpetrators.

A 37-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murder was bailed pending further enquiries yesterday. ? A 41-year-old man from Wallasey arrested on suspicion of murder remains in custody after magistrates granted police extra time to question him.
