Murder attempt man charged.

A MUSCLEMAN was charged by police yesterday with the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend.

Mark McArthur, 23, from Falkirk, handed himself in to face the allegations - but only after a weekend at the Creamfields music festival.

It comes after young mum Amie Dowell - who was in a relationship with McArthur - released images of injuries she claims to have suffered during an attack.

The 22-year-old was left with severe bruising on her face and body and a burst eardrum in an attack carried out in front of her son. A police spokeswoman said: "A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the attempted murder of a 22-year-old woman in Falkirk on Sunday, August 23."

She said he is due to appear at Falkirk Sheriff Court today.
