Muntinlupa warns owners of illegally parked vehicles.
The Muntinlupa Traffic Management Bureau (MTMB) is taking a strong stand on smooth traffic flow. It will tow illegally parked and stalled vehicles along the main and secondary roads.
Yesterday, the traffic group warned vehicle owners that it has intensified its towing operations through the "Operation: Alis Sagabal" to keep roads free from obstruction.
MTMB chief Danidon Nolasco said all kinds of motor vehicles are covered by the operation including trucks, buses, vans, cars, jeepneys, tricycles, and motorcycles that are illegally parked, stalled, or involved in an accident which is left on the road by its owner.
He said the operation will cover areas in National Road, Alabang-Zapote Road, East and West Service Road and secondary roads that serve as alternate routes for motorists.
Towing and impounding fees will be from P1,000 to P1,800, and P100 to P400 per day with five percent surcharge if unredeemed after five working days, respectively. Towed vehicles will be brought to the Pacwood Site in Tunasan, Muntinlupa.
Motorists are complaining about the ongoing drainage system construction on the National Road in Bayanan, which is causing heavy traffic.
MTMB said it is in close coordination with the Department of Public Works and Highways in speeding up the construction works.
Mayor Jaime Fresnedi ordered the strict implementation of traffic management policies to decongest major roads.
