Mumbai cops ban drones for a month.

MUMBAI Police have banned the use of drones in the city for a month citing intelligence inputs on a possible terror attack.

The Mumbai Polices onepage order claims that since terrorists and anti- social elements may use drones, remote- controlled aerial missiles, para- gliders or remote- controlled microlight aircrafts for an attack between July 4 and August 2, remote- controlled drones or microlight airborne devices would not be allowed over the citys skyline.

The order comes in the wake of a drone being spotted near the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in Mumbai.

Employees of housing. com were later arrested by the police for taking photographs and flying an airborne device in a prohibited zone.

The police had received a call from a BARC staff member who had spotted two persons operating a drone and taking aerial photographs in the prohibited area.

However, the police are still contemplating registering an FIR against the employees as they were not aware that they could not fly a drone without prior police permission.
