Mum took her own life; NEWS IN BRIEF.
A WOMAN found hanged "seemed cheerful" on the morning of
her death, an inquest heard.
Lana Williams, 20, was found by her fiance Liam Doughty at the couple's Oxford Street home in Pontycymmer on January 6, 2009.
Three suicide notes were recovered, Aberdare Coroner's court was told.
She had seemed "in good spirits" when Mr Doughty had left the house for work that morning.
Miss Williams spent the afternoon with friends and her young daughter, and later used a friend's mobile to send Mr Doughty a text message telling him she was going to bed and asking him to put the rubbish out when he returned. When Mr Doughty came home at 10.30pm, he found his fiancee hanged in the hallway.
He called the emergency services, and Miss Williams was pronounced dead at 11pm.
Detective Constable Gareth Cridland said the evidence indicated "an intention" to harm herself, adding that although Miss Williams had suffered post-natal depression, for which she was still taking medication, there was no other history of mental health problems.
Coroner Peter Maddox said he thought an appropriate verdict was that Lana Williams took her own life.
