Mum disappears after a sherry on Boxing Day.
A MOTHER mysteriously vanished while on a walk on Boxing Day after enjoying a sherry and watching Fawlty Towers.
Police have now released CCTV footage of Sally Allan, 59, who was last seen at her PS400,000 home at 3am.
The final sighting of her was at Newcastle Quayside, 11 miles away, at 6.10am. At the time of her disap-pearance she is believed to have been wearing pink pyjamas, a cream fleece and cream waterproof jacket.
Mrs Allan's husband Gordon, 60, said they had celebrated a normal Christmas with family at their home in Ponteland, Northumberland.
He said: "This is totally out of character for Sally to do something like this and we have never been apart from each other for long at all. The family were all together over Christmas and had a lovely time and for this to happen is just devastating."
CCTV shows Mrs Allan walking close to the River Tyne, heading quickly towards the Swing Bridge, before she moves out of shot.
Gordon added: "Sally is a selfless woman who would go out of her way to help others around her. She was a great wife and a wonderful mother."
The couple have three children, David, 28, Claire, 30, and Clive, 32.
Chief Inspector Steve Readdie said: "We lose sight of her around the Swing Bridge area and she could have gone towards the city centre, across the bridge over towards the Hilton Hotel or continued along the Quayside."
