Mum clear over truant.

A MUM has been cleared of failing to send her son to school - as he stayed at home to care for her while she battled breast cancer.

The 14-year-old played truant rather than leave his sick mum, 48, at home alone while. He even used to change her dressings after she had surgery.

But the boy also became ill with flu, tonsillitis and stress-related conditions, magistrates were told.

Truancy officials from Pembrokeshire investigated after he missed classes. Magistrates at Haverfordwest found the mum of three, who cannot be named, not guilty.
