A MOTHER sobbed as she pleaded guilty to stuffing her baby son's body into a drain at her parents' home.
Sinead Connett, 28, admitted concealing the newborn in a towel and plastic bags in a pit in the garden in Grimsby, Lincs.
The body lay hidden for nearly three years until Stuart and Ann Connett called a plumber after having issues with a toilet.
The town's magistrates court heard the body was found in February 2016 with a fractured skull.
A cause of death was not ascertained but DNA tests revealed the mother as Connett, of Hertford. She was granted bail and will be sentenced on June 9. Humberside Police confirmed: "The baby was deceased when it was placed in the drain."
