Multimedia CD-ROMs add new dimension to Bellcore training portfolio; 70 new media-based training products due out.

LISLE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--September 16, 1996--Learning about telecommunications has become more convenient and dynamic, thanks to six new multimedia CD-ROM training products from Bellcore.

A major publisher of media-based telecommunications training alternatives, Bellcore is complementing its fast-growing video and computer-based training (CBT) product lines that make training available anytime, anywhere.

The multimedia products launch an aggressive expansion of offerings delivered to customers in formats other than traditional instructor-led lectures and group exercises. By 1997, Bellcore will have introduced 70 new alternative training products into the global marketplace, making a total portfolio of over 160.

Two additional CD-ROMs on broadband are soon to be released. In addition to the eight new CD-ROMs, Bellcore is adding 40 new videotapes and 22 new CBTs to its family of training products. The video offerings encompass emerging technology, telecommunications overview, feature interaction, consumer market research, and optical networks. The CBT curriculum, which is easily incorporated into local networks, covers basic telephony, wireless, and video technology. Both video and CBT formats are available with site and corporate licenses for significant savings and convenience to training administrators.
