MuleSource Launches MuleForge.org to Accelerate Universal Integration of Data and Services.

Web Site for Creating and Sharing Applications for Data and Services Integration With Open Source Mule

SAN FRANCISCO -- MuleSource (www.mulesource.com), the leading provider of open source infrastructure and integration software, today announced the launch of MuleForge, a collaborative development site for Mule extensions and applications built by the Mule community and MuleSource partners. Located at http://www.muleforge.org, MuleForge provides a platform where developers can explore, download, test, and contribute to a broad range of re-usable Mule extensions.

MuleForge serves as a collaborative development base for the Mule community. In addition to applications and extensions for the Mule project, the forge offers tips, documentation, and other resources. MuleForge also automates the build and compilation of code, collecting all dependencies needed in the process and saving developers enormous amounts of time.

"We're seeing an explosion of developer interest around using Mule to solve major integration challenges and it makes sense for us to provide a central repository to host these conversations and code contributions," said Ross Mason, CTO and co-founder of MuleSource. "Developers get access to a community of peers who can test and give feedback on code as well as help each other solve technical problems."

The new MuleForge already hosts more than 40 projects from the MuleSource core development team and various other contributors, and includes a Salesforce.com connector that allows developers to establish real-time communications between Salesforce.com and internal data sources through a simple, configuration-based approach.

Other extensions include a Mule plug-in for AS/400 queuing support, a JavaSpaces integration package, and a SIP (session initiation protocol) connector that allows Mule to be used for integrating data and services in VoIP and other telco applications.

"Mule is the best integration engine on the market and the ESB of choice for high-performance, multi-protocol environments. It has a proven reputation and is responsible for securely and reliably moving high volume, mission critical enterprise data," said Bob Hill, Chief Technology Officer at Codel. "We have written and shared different Mule adaptors on MuleForge. One example of this is that our customers can now cost effectively Codelmark their data by integrating Codel straight into the enterprise infrastructure. MuleForge will certainly help Codel reach a global audience."

Additional features of MuleForge include:

* Source Code Control through Subversion;

* Continuous Builds through Bamboo;

* Issue Tracking through JIRA;

* Documentation Wiki through Confluence;

* Access to hundreds of developers and thousands of users to further develop and test code;

* Continuous Build system ensures that projects are healthy and work with current Mule versions;

* Community coverage for your project and company;

* Project Statistics, Mailing Lists, and much more.
