Mulayam warns SP ' goons' to mend ways.
GOONDAISM will not be tolerated anymore in the Samajwadi Party, an irked Mulayam Singh Yadav warned SP workers on Monday as indiscipline among the ranks continues to make news in Uttar Pradesh.
" I'll not tolerate goondaism of party workers at any cost. The negative perception of the people about the SP workers is true. Be it the workers or leaders or ministers... now they all need to mend their ways," the SP supremo said at a function to mark the 111th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh.
" Unfortunately, the party workers think that they are above others. This is not a good thing.
Their indiscipline is increasing nowadays. Be it the workers or the ministers, I cannot let them do so," he asserted.
Mulayam added that winning the Lok Sabha elections would be tough if his party leaders and workers did not mend their ways. " I am not a saint. I too have ambitions.
So you are supposed to work honestly to ensure my victory in the Lok Sabha elections," he said.
The SP supremo called upon his partymen to work honestly for making him the prime minister the way they had done for his son Akhilesh in Uttar Pradesh. " Now you should work honestly to send me to Delhi. This will be possible only when you mend your ways," he said.
The Akhilesh Yadav government is facing trust deficit because of the poor law and order situation and involvement of the party workers and leaders in criminal activities.
Interestingly, Mulayam advised his party men to take lesson from the BJP leaders and workers in this regard.
" The BJP leaders win elections because they don't get involved in wrong activities," he said.
