Moving out of the black.

OLD habits die hard so it may be a while before Emma Booth is willing to swap her usual black eyeliner for girly pastel shadows.

A former goth, the 30-year-old mum of two's look used to consist of black kohl eyeliner and blood red lipstick. As a teenager, she used talcum powder in preference to foundation to perfect her deathly pallor.

These days the manager of Middlesbrough's Costa Coffee is a little more reserved, but Mary suggests Emma's naturally pale complexion would benefit from a warming foundation.

Brightening her base colour would expand her palette to include flattering shades of turquoise, jade and deep purple. While pastel shades best suit her naturally fair skin.

Taking in her new look Emma says: "This look isn't something I would normally go for but it's nice and I like the lipstick. I would wear it again, but I think I would need Mary to do it for me."
