Christian O'Neal has been chosen to replace Bob Denman as vice chancellor for advancement at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Denman will retire at the end of March, with O'Neal taking over the position to lead communications and fundraising efforts by the university.
Josh Wilson has been promoted to associate vice president of student services for Ozarka College in Melbourne. Wilson previously was the college's associate vice president of planning and institutional research, a position now being filled by Deltha Shell after her recent promotion. Shell previously served as the director of the TRiO Student Support Services program at the college, which provides on-campus group and peer tutoring, workshops, individual counseling and computeraided instruction.
Jenny Anderson and Jeremy Schoen have been hired by Edward Jones Investments in Little Rock as financial advisers. Anderson's office is at 10801 Executive Center Drive, Suite 205, and Schoen's office is at 415 N. McKinley St., Suite 680.
Dr. Mangaraju Chakka, David Fox and Dr. Morris Kelley have been appointed to the Central Arkansas American Heart Association's board of directors. Chakka is currently a cardiologist at CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock with board certifications in cardiovascular disease, cardiac electrophysiology and internal medicine. Fox is the system vice president of network development at CHI St. Vincent North in Sherwood, where he manages both fiscal and operational components of the hospital. Kelley is an interventional cardiologist at CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock and is certified in both internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Bethany Knight, Dr. Robert Lane, Dr. Donald Wright and Kristie Branscum, an advanced practice registered nurse, are now seeing patients at the Grasse Memorial Clinic in Calico Rock (Izard County). They are a part of White River Health System's new Association of Family & Internal Medicine Physicians, which focuses on practices ranging from primary care to the treatment and management of complex, chronic medical conditions.
Carl Carter and Erin Maxwell have been named to new positions at Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Little Rock. Carter has been named manager of network operations after having been with ABCBS for more than 17 years, starting out as a Medicare claims examiner and then working in various roles in claims, customer service, training and development. Maxwell, who joined ABCBS in 2005 and most recently served as the company's manager of performance management, has been named director of claims and BlueCard administration.
Nathan Nolen has been hired by QualChoice, a Little Rock health insurance firm, as the Project Center of Excellence program director. After working in campaign management and presales engagement at Acxiom Corp. for 10 years, Nolen will help implement project management processes for QualChoice, as well as oversee the firm's project portfolio.
Jason Bender has been promoted within the Rogers office of Rockfish, a marketing and advertising firm, to chief creative officer. This is the first time a CCO has been appointed at Rockfish. Bender previously worked as the firm's chief creative director.
Shauna Carpenter, formerly the communications manager for MedEvolve in Little Rock, has been hired by the Arkansas State Employees Association to serve as its communications director. Carpenter will be responsible for managing the association's social media accounts, websites, press releases and newsletters, along with interviewing and communicating with state legislators about the needs of state employees.
