Moussawi: US Embassy hurdling Lebanon deal with Russia to store Iraqi oil.
NNA - MP Nawwaf Moussawi on Wednesday accused the US Embassy in Beirut of working on obstructing an agreement with Russia that allows Lebanon to store oil shipped through a pipeline from Iraq. "The US Embassy is dauntlessly endeavoring to hurdle the deal with the Russian side that would render Lebanon a platform to store Iraqi oil," the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc member said. "Within the frame, the US Embassy is exerting pressures on the concerned sides under the pretense that the caretaker government has no power to conclude agreements with the Russians," he added. "The embassy is trying once again to act like a high commissioner in a country under mandate, only to unveil the hostile US policy towards the interests of Lebanon and the Lebanese," he stressed. "What the US officials must understand is that Lebanon will fight their attempts and pressures," Moussawi underlined. =========R.A.H.
