The campaign recognizes the community that saved the historic theatre from being demolished in 1983. The "Continuing the Legacy" capital campaign set the goal of 3.3 million and has reached 66 percent of that goal so far. The campaign will support a series of projects slated for 2020 that are designed to support internal and external projects of the historic building owned by the City of Bellingham and for shows facilitated by the MBT non-profit management organization. Some of the major capital work improvements include repairing and replacing the roof, state of the art audio and video, enhanced lighting and safety rails, repair 1,500 seats. The funds will also contribute to creating an immersive 1927 experience through special interior paint and carpets. A Capital Campaign Celebration will be held on March 20 at Mount Baker Theatre.
