Motorola Inc has made available the Passive Infra Red Detection System reference design, the first in a series of new reference designs based on 68HC908 Flash microcontrollers that the company intends to release.
Developed by Motorola and AT Electronic Embedded Control Consultants, the Passive Infra Red Detection System is designed to provide specifications for the development of security peripherals and remote networks. The reference design, which can be downloaded free of charge from http://www.motorola.com/mcu, includes full code listings, necessary PC drivers, schematics, a bill of materials for the hardware components and instructions on all aspects of the design.
Other reference designs Motorola plans to make available will be for embedded applications and networked systems such as Digital Addressable Lighting Interface and Controller Area Network for Industrial Networking.
