Motorola Ventures Invests in Avvenu.

PALO ALTO, Calif. & SCHAUMBURG, Ill. -- Avvenu, Inc. and Motorola, Inc. (NYSE:MOT) announced today that Motorola Ventures made a strategic investment in Avvenu. Avvenu has developed a service that allows users to remotely access their home or office computer from a mobile phone, PDA, or computer. Motorola Ventures is the equity investment arm of Motorola, Inc. Financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.

The Avvenu service enables users to view, download and share the images and files on their computer simply and securely from any web-enabled device. The files can be on a home computer, office computer, laptop, or media PC.

Avvenu's service will help make that real by bringing an impressive new capability to the mobile handset that enhances Motorola's Seamless Mobility applications," said Warren Holtsberg, corporate vice president, equity investments at Motorola.

The goal of the Avvenu service is to allow users access to all of their computer content - even though they don't have their computer with them. The cell phone is the portal through which users can easily access and share their most important content.

The Avvenu service is now in beta, and users may sign up by going to The technology will also be demonstrated at Motorola's booth at the upcoming CTIA (Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association) conference in New Orleans on March 14-16th.
