Motor Racing: SHAKEY'S SHOOK UP.

Byline: By JOHN BROWN

SHANE 'Shakey' Byrne is relying on the power of his GSX R1000 Suzuki to get him back into contention for British Superbike glory at the country's fastest track tomorrow.

The 2.35 mile Thruxton circuit boosts an average lap speed of over 112mph and the 2003 champ reckons the ultra fast Rizla Suzuki will get him back among the frontrunners after disappointing in the opening two rounds at rain-hit Brands Hatch and Donington Park.

He said: "The bike's a missile. At every circuit I have either topped the speed trap times or have been close to it.

"I'll be coming out fighting at Thruxton."
