Mother stabbed bully.

A mother who stabbed a bully five times while trying to protect her "vulnerable" son was yesterday jailed for four years.

Jessie McCutcheon (43) was just yards from Hackney police station in East London when she plunged a kitchen knife into the back of 15-year- old James Peters as he held her son in a headlock during a scuffle in a shop.

The mother-of-three armed herself with a 6in long weapon after receiving a late-night telephone call from her son begging for help and saying he was being threatened by a gang.

London's Southwark Crown Court was told she immediately ran to the shop only three minutes away to find 17-year-old Alan McCutcheon being held in a headlock.

Passing sentence, Recorder Anthony Patience QC told McCutcheon, who admitted wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm last January, that prison was unavoidable for behaviour that could have had "far more serious consequences".
