Mother of three found dead.

Muscat: An Indian expatriate woman, mother of three children, was found dead hanging from a ceiling hook yesterday afternoon in Hamriya, Ruwi.

The victim has been identified as Deepa Anil, hailing from the south Indian state of Kerala, who used to work at Royal Hospital in Muscat.

"The body was found hanging from the ceiling hook. It was Anil, the deceased's husband, who saw the body first," sources told

Times of Oman.

"We don't know why she has taken this drastic step. Deepa and Anil had three children aged 10, 5 and 3. She loved her children a lot. Yesterday, when the tragedy struck, Anil had gone to Darsait Church with the two elder children and the third kid was with the housemaid.

When Anil returned by 1pm, he knocked Deepa's room door and when there was no response, he broke it forcefully and found that Deepa was hanging from the ceiling hook," sources said.

Royal Oman Police rushed to crime scene and moved the body to the police mortuary. The police have also sealed the flat denying entry to others.

Both the husband and housemaid were taken into police custody. Anil is working in a pharmacy outlet and the children are studying in one of the Indian schools in the capital area.
