Most bizarre travel experience.

Several years ago, my husband and I were trying to get from a friend's vow renewal in Santorini, Greece, to my sister-in-law's 40th birthday on the Turkish coast. They are relatively close. Should have been easy, right? Hah! It involved an 8-hour ferry ride, a 45-minute cab ride to the other side of Rhodes to a hotel where we had to bang on the door to get in in the middle of the night, another cab ride back around Rhodes after three hours of sleep for a flight out at dawn and a long and dusty ride to Kalkan after landing in Turkey in a cab that had to be from the 1960s. I think we could have flown from Greece to America and back to Turkey faster. I can laugh now....
