Mortgage veteran Howard Cooper dies.
Veteran city mortgage broker Howard Cooper has died. He was age 84.
A founding member with Barry Horowitz of Cooper-Horowitz, Inc., Mr Cooper was affectionately known as "The Consummate Mortgage Broker" who earned the respect of the city's borrowing and lending community during a 60 year career in finance.
Cooper-Horowitz, Inc. was founded in 1964 and has grown to become one of the city's most prestigious mortgage firms.
The company has arranged financing for thousands of commercial properties throughout the United State and the rest of the world and has an extensive advisory service for the most complex real estate transactions.
Since its founding, Cooper Horowitz, Inc. has conducted nearly $20 billion in total business volume
Also known as 'The Chief', Mr Cooper's loss has saddened those who knew him. His colleagues have placed a memorial advertisement in this week's Real Estate Weekly.
Born in Mount Vernon, N.Y. Mr Cooper is survived by three children and four grandchildren.
