Rabat - The Kingdom of Morocco hails the decision announced, on Wednesday by Guinean interim President General SE[umlaut]kouba KonatE[umlaut], to immediately appoint a Prime minister from the political forces to lead a transitional government of national unity, a statement of the Moroccan Foreign ministry said on Wednesday. AaAaAa "The Kingdom of Morocco, which closely followed during the latest months the evolution of the situation in the Republic of Guinea and received President Dadis Camara for intensive medical care, hails the decision announced on Wednesday by interim President General SE[umlaut]kouba KonatE[umlaut], about the immediate appointment of a Prime minister from the political forces to lead a transitional government of national unity," the same source said.AaAa This decision comes following the good offices mission made recently by Morocco along with Guinean, French and American high-ranking officials, particularly on the occasion of GE[umlaut]nE[umlaut]ral SE[umlaut]kouba KonatE[umlaut]'s one-week visit to Rabat, the same source said.AaAa Several working sessions were held directly with the Republic of Guinea's interim President or alternately with the French and American high-ranking officials sent to this end by their respective countries, the ministry said, recalling that, all the way through these important consultations, the Moroccan authorities' efforts stemmed from the excellent long-standing relations uniting the brotherly Moroccan and Guinean peoples, and the crucial goal of finding a prompt way out of the crisis, while ensuring peace, security and stability for Guinea.AaAa The call, made today by General SE[umlaut]kouba KonatE[umlaut], is part of this strategic perspective wherein the brotherly Guinean people would be, as soon as possible, in charge of their own destiny, within the framework of democratic representativeness, political stability and socio-economic progress, the statement said, affirming that the announcement made by the interim President after leaving Morocco is a significant and promising step forward.AaAa The Kingdom of Morocco expresses its keen wish to see all the important Guinean forces seize this available opportunity, with the guarantees given by the Guinean armed forces, to make this interim period succeed, which will lead in the months to come to free and transparent elections, the statement said.
