Moroccan Solar Energy Agency, two French groups sign a MoU to promote photovoltaic technology in Morocco.

Rabat - The Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy (MASEN) and French groups "Soitec" and "Shneider Electric" signed, on Wednesday, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote photovoltaic technology in Morocco. The MoU is meant to develop photovoltaic industry in Morocco in order to meet the domestic needs and export electricity, which will contribute to establishing a supply strategy at a reasonable cost for the long term, says a joint statement of the two signatories.

This Franco-Moroccan initiative is the first partnership established as part of the Mediterranean Solar Energy Plan, which is one of the strategic processes for sustainable development facing the foreseeable increase of energy demand in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
