RUGBY firm Morgan Est has been awarded a pounds 1.5 million contract to carry out the construction of an intermediate pressure gas pipeline between the two towns of Cardross and Helensburgh in Argyll and Bute for gas pipeline operator Scotland Gas Networks.

Work involves the laying of 7.6 kilometres of a mixture of welded steel and plastic pipe, which when complete, will reinforce the gas network, securing gas supplies for local residents.
