More services to Bard town.

DAY-trippers heading to historic Stratford-upon-Avon are to get more Saturday train services this summer.

Transport authority Centro and train company London Midland have doubled the number of services to Shakespeare country from next Saturday. Two trains an hour will run from Birmingham's Snow Hill to the Bard's home town.

Coun Tim Huxtable, Centro's lead member for rail, said: "Research has shown that Saturday is now the worst day of the week for road congestion in and around central Birmingham "These new half hourly services mean people can avoid the jams as well as the frustration of finding a parking space."
