More roadworks in the pipeline.

A WATER main which has burst five times in two years is to be replaced - possibly within months.

Yorkshire Water has admitted it is unacceptable for the water main on Wakefield Road, Moldgreen, to have burst so many times.

But the much-needed improvement work, predicted to start in the coming months, will result in further road works and closures.

The water main, once again, caused chaos to commuters and residents last Thursday after it burst.

A spokesman for Yorkshire Water said: "We recognise that a water pipe bursting a number of times in the last two years is completely unacceptable and we would like to apologise to customers for the disruption caused by the latest burst.

"We've been working for some time now on a plan to replace the current pipe and install a new one as part of our pounds 3.5 billion programme of improvements over the new five years."
