More patronage.

Ian Murray, a defeated Liberal MP, has been rewarded with a five-year appointment to the Veterans Review and Appeal Board. (Appointments are normally for a two-year term.) The appointment is worth $100,000 per year to Mr. Murray.

Member of Parliament Elsie Wayne expressed her disgust, stating that Mr. Murray had not been active in Veterans Affairs during his term on the Hill. Veterans--aren't you glad that our Prime Minister's office sees fit to reward this individual at our expense? (It is only fair to point out that these appointments are made by order-in-council--the PM's office--and not by the Minister of Veterans Affairs, who, by all accounts, is on the side of the veterans.)
