More cracking tales about triple and double yolk eggs.

ERIC Dunn was surprised to get a three-yolk egg in a bargain pack of 10 for PS1 at Aldi.

He was also amused because he read that Marks and Spencer were selling six packs of doubleyolk eggs for PS2 70.

"How rare are three-yolkers?" asks Eric. "Have any other readers had any?" Diane Pogson said: "I recently bought my usual dozen eggs from Morrisons and five of them had double yolks.

"My youngest daughter, who is 13, had never seen one and was very excited. We were told when we were younger that it was lucky to get a double egg yolk.

"Unfortunately, we have never had a triple egg yolk."

She also won't be buying those special packs of double yolkers. "It takes away the fun of hoping to get one in your eggs," she says.

Ian Hunter said: "About 10 years or so ago me and Jean were still caravaning and used to book a pitch through the autumn at Ripley caravan park near Harrogate.

"We frequented Hutchinson's butchers in Ripley village - an excellent meat emporium - and on one occasion bought half a dozen eggs for morning breakfast. I kid you not but that half dozen contained one triple, three double and two single yolkers.

"Needless to say, Jean snaffled the triple yolker. We have never come across anything like that before or since."

And Christine Ramsden said: "Just read your article about eggs. Never seen a triple yolk but, in the early 1980s, I bought a dozen eggs from my milkman one Easter and every one was a double yolker. Never seen that since."

Perhaps they were a present from the Easter bunny?
