More Michael Litigation.
Yet another suit has been filed against Little Rock accountant Anthony Michael in a continuing battle over Costello's cigar bar.Dr. David Harshfield filed a complaint on Nov.22 in Pulaski County Chancery Court, accusing Michael of diverting funds designated for Costello's to his own personal use, as well as fraudulently transferring stock to himself in order to take control of the business.
Harshfield had filed a complaint on Aug.21 in Pulaski County Circuit Court that said Michael refused to provide him with company records as required by Arkansas corporate law.
A suit with similar allegations is pending against Michael in Clark County Circuit Court. That complaint was filed by Howard Cannon and his company, Canon Security Group Inc. of Arkadelphia.
Greg Hopkins, the Little Rock attorney representing Michael, said the allegations in Harshfield's suit are without merit and eventually Michael's position will be vindicated.
"One thing we ask is to keep an open mind, for your readers to keep an open mind," Hopkins said. "There's always two sides to every story."
