Moors to host Rangers kids or Ballymena in Cup; IN BRIEF.
? FOOTBALL: Solihull Moors will host Rangers Under-21s or Northern Irish side Ballymena United in the fourth round of the Scottish Challenge Cup.
Moors, the only English club in the competition, booked their place in yesterday's draw following a tense penalty shootout win over Lowland League outfit Kelty Hearts last weekend.
And their reward is a home tie against Rangers reserves, coached by Graeme Murty and ex-Blues striker Peter Lovenkrands, or Ballymena, who finished runners-up in the NIFL Premiership last season.
Those sides will meet in a delayed third-round clash at Ballymena Showgrounds next week.
? CYCLING: Mathieu van der Poel is the new race leader at the Tour of Britain after taking victory on stage four.
The Dutch rider was first across the line over the 173.2km from Gateshead to Kendal after being the first to make his move on the sprint on the sharp rise to the finish in the Cumbrian town.
Van der Poel (Corendon-Circus) tracked the three-rider breakaway before powering away from the rest of the reduced field, with Jasper De Buyst (Lotto-Soudal) and Simon Clarke (EF Education First) following him home and completing the podium.
Matteo Trentin (Mitchelton-Scott) finished the stage in ninth place but has conceded his race lead and the green jersey to Van der Poel, who is ahead by a second.
