Moorcroft adds new string to Lute's bow; I ZINGARI.

A Moorcroft treble for first division table-toppers Lute FC ensured they stayed three points clear of their nearest rivals.

But it wasn't all plain sailing as they had to fight for a 3-2 victory against a battling Empress side.

Goals from Hassan (2) and Philips kept FC Garston close behind in second as they beat Liverpool Homeless FC 3-1 while MSB Woolton under-21s recorded a cracking 4-1 away result at FC Northern. Red Rum remained in contention after their 2-0 win against AFC Wavertree with goals from McIsaac and Swain.

Abbey Road Vets are joint top of the over-35s division with The Grammar, who drew 0-0 with REMYCA, after a 3-2 win at The Derby saw goals from Forde, Stirrup and Conley. Britannia top-scored across the divisions with a 10-1 triumph at Netherley Wood Lane Legion, which kept them in the top three, while Old Xaverians drew 0-0 with Abbey FC.

NAC held on to fourth position despite losing 2-1 at home by BRNESC while Liobians left FC Northern rooted to the bottom of the table after beating them 4-2. Stoneycroft stay top of the over-40s division after a 2-1 win at Whiston kept them three points ahead of St Ally's 40s, who recorded a 9-0 win at FC Hightown thanks to a trio of hat-tricks from Strode, Kirkpatrick and Taylor.

Aintree Villa made ground on inactive Crofters with a 4-2 win at Jawbone (Maddock, Kenny) while Garston Vets impressed with a 5-1 win against Bleak thanks to goals from Burgess (2), Williams (2) and Carlson. FC Northern joined Clubmoor Farmers LFI on six points after beating them 3-2 while De La Salle OB made progress thanks to a 5-1 win against bottom dwellers Cafe D'Art thanks to goals from Burnett, Hughes, Kapoor, Edwards and Wheldon.
