Monica Madness Sweeps Through Sephora And Sells Out Club Monaco.

NEW YORK--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--March 11, 1999--Sephora, the European prestige beauty retailer taking America by storm, snagged Club Monaco's color cosmetic line exclusively (with the exception of the New York and Seattle markets).

And what an exclusive it turned out to be. It all started with the Barbara Walter's interview last Wednesday evening, March 3rd. Club Monaco made its network debut on the most anticipated and talked about interview show and made its appearance on the most talked about woman -- Monica Lewinsky. Club Monaco went from being a best selling cosmetic brand to 'the' best selling cosmetic brand in one mouthful.

Apparently, the consuming public wasn't just interested in what Monica was saying but what she was wearing on those lips, eyes and face. It seems everything she was wearing is now on everyone else - there's not a Club Monaco Glaze Sheer Lip Color or Bare lip pencil, a Bronze eye color and Topaz eye color, or a Hint Hint cheek color or Twilight cheek color, or even a simple black mascara to be found in any Sephora or Club Monaco store. Glaze went from being a hot seller to a collector's item overnight.

Club Monaco is working overtime just to fill the empty shelves in Sephora stores (presently in 18 major urban markets including Miami, San Francisco, So. California, New York City, New Jersey, Long Island, Chapel Hill, Pittsburgh, Chicago, etc.) but it will take some time - as soon as a lipstick comes in - it goes right out again.

Club Monaco is rushing production and hopes to have the shelves fully stocked within the next ten days to two weeks. There's a wait list at every store and the list keeps growing moment by moment.

So what's a girl to do if she can't get her favorite lipstick? Will Sephora have to add the entire female population to the wait list? Stay tuned!

To be placed on the waiting list please call Sephora at 1-877-SEPHORA for the store nearest you or Club Monaco at 1-888-580-5084. Both numbers are toll-free.
