There are several financial service providers available. Abbey National is leading the way if you are with Orange. You can get mortgage and loan quotes and, in the next few weeks, a full banking service. Woolwich is available on a 7110 and Barclays last week launched its stockbroking service, which you can access through Vodafone.

Try putting pounds 50 a month into an investment trust which will spread the risk over several companies. Alternatively, you can put up to pounds 5,000 into a stocks and shares ISA, which will invest in the market with less risk for you.
