Monarchs' triple test; UPDATE.

Edinburgh's bid for glory on three fronts will be severely tested this weekend.

The capital crackers take on fellow treble chasers Reading in speedway's Premier League Cup semi final first leg at Armadale tonight.

And the Monarchs then face the long trek south for crucial league clashes at Newport on Sunday and Exeter 24 hours later.

The Scots club and Reading are already through to next month's National Fours final while the English club also top the Premier League.

Skipper Kenny McKinna said: "It's a very big weekend for us. Reading are flying at the moment and are unbeaten in the League so we will have our work cut out."

CRICKET: Giant killers Stoneywood-Dyce have no fears over a Scottish Cup quarter-final trip to Western Union high-flyers Ferguslie.

They have already dumped Clydesdale and Carlton and secretary Alan Barron said: "If we play to our best there could be another shock."

Grange are at home to Strathmore, Ayr meet GHK and Greenock face RHSM.
