Monarch Import Company to file infringement suit

Recently, Monarch Import Co. filed a law suit in California against Western Worldwide Enterprises group to enjoin the sale by Western Worldwide and its distributors of brands of beer infringing upon the trademarked product, Tsingtao beer, imported and sold in the U.S. by Monarch.

In the suit, Monarch asserts that the beers sold by Western Worldwide imitate and infringe upon the Tsingtao beer trademark, and that Western Worldwide has sought to deceive and mislead the public by passing off its beer as authentic Tsingtao beer, produced in the People's Republic of China.

Monarch has petitioned the court for an injunction to prevent Western Worldwide from using the Tsingtao name or any colorable imitation thereof, and for an order requiring Western Worldwide and its distributors to deliver all inventories of the infringing products in the U.S. to Monarch for destruction.
