Monaco times lift Hamilton; FORMULA ONE.
The world champion finished the day second quickest overall behind practice king Nico Rosberg who has never translated such form into qualifying and the race this season.
Rosberg topped the timesheets in his Williams for the ninth time in 17 sessions this season, yet his highest grid slot has only ever been fifth, picking up just 4.5 points overall. If the German is to be discounted when it comes to Sunday's race, Hamilton would appear to face a battle with the Brawn GP duo of Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello, whilst the Ferraris cannot be ruled out.
Behind Rosberg's time of one minute 15.243 seconds for the tight, twisty, barrier-lined circuit, Hamilton finished two tenths of a second down in the afternoon session. Barrichello and Button were third and fourth overall..
