Byline: CHRIS HOLE

A TALENTED schoolgirl is to bid for European glory after success in national rollerskating championships.

Mollie Williams will travel to Portugal to represent her country after rolling out of the British Championships, in Peterborough, with a host of titles.

The 11-year-old, from Berwick Hills, Middlesbrough, will compete for Great Britain at European championships later this year.

Mollie, a member of Tees Valley Roller Skating Club, said: "I'm really pleased. I have to work hard and practise three times a week. But it's worth it. My friends are very proud too."

Mollie is the British Minis Figure Skating Champion for the third consecutive year.

She is also the British Minis Combined Skating Champion for the second consecutive year.

And she came second in the British Minis Free Skating Championship.

Mollie, who has a sister Eva, four, will travel to Portugal to compete in October. Her fantastic results follow similar success at last year's championships.

Mollie's mum Angela Leonard, 30, and John Williams, 33, are delighted.

Angela said: "We are all very proud. We want to thank her coach Julia Bailey."
