AKZO NOBEL CHEMICALS INC.
Interstab G-8257 additive-type internal mold release for use in a number of polymer applications. FDA-approved, physical properties include a melting point of 288-295 F. In rigid PVC, G-8257 improves melt-flow characteristics and yields products with reportedly good surface finish, color and physical properties. In flexible PVC and plastisols, G-8257, at levels of 0.20-1.50 phr, provides external lubrication or mold-release properties.
Armoslip slip agents add slip and anti-block characteristics and serve as internal mold releases. Products reportedly speed up molding and extrusion, and give a smooth surface, high gloss, and close conformity to mold details. These high-molecular-weight fatty acid amides dissolve in resins at processing temperatures but migrate to the surface of products as they cool.
Specialty lubricant concentrates for most thermoplastics reportedly improve wear resistance and mold release, reduce warp-age and rejects, lower material and energy costs, make finishing easier, and reduce tool wear. Available in cubes, pellets or as powders, offered alone or in multifunctional concentrates.

BASF CORP. CHEMICALS DIV.
Luwax PE and montan waxes for use as lubricating, wetting and mold-release agents, as well as dispersants for pigments and fillers. Compatible with a wide variety of TPUs, nylon, PC and ABS. Can be extruded, injection and blow molded. In extrusion, products reportedly allow control over plastication time and maximum torque, and reduce tack and improve gloss of finished goods. In film processes these waxes reportedly reduce tack without affecting film transparency and do not plate out.
External release agents, primarily for injection molding, but including compression molding, extrusion and RIM.
Also a range of paintable and silicone-based products from very light-duty film-forming sprays to heavy products specifically designed for rigid PUR foams. Other esters such as Loxiol HOB7119 are effective as mold releases for acrylics, acetals and PC. Loxiol G71S is a mold release for polyurethane. Simple esters include Loxiol G33 and Loxiol G47 for PC.
CRODA UNIVERSAL INC.
Crodamide lubricant additives used to reduce the coefficient of friction, improve mold flow, and mold release in PE, PP, PET, PS, PVC, nylon, and other specialty engineering resins. These high purity additives do not contribute to mold build-up.
CROMPTON CORP. OSI SPECIALTIES
Silicone fluids in a range of viscosities, plus organomodified fluids. Both are used as internal lubricants and mold releases for thermoplastics. Typical product is L-45 used at viscosities of 10,000 to 60,000 cst.
Silicone fluids reduce coefficient of friction, improve wear resistance, and may improve surface appearance and gloss of molded parts. Also provide lower melt viscosity, resulting in better mold fill-out and reduced cycle times in injection molding. Reported to be excellent internal mold releases, reducing or eliminating need for external releases.

* Frekote 44-NC/55-NC semi-permanent, nontransferring releasing interface for molding fiberglass, graphite, and boron reinforced epoxy and BMI composites.
* Frekote 700-NC/770-NC general-purpose, semi-permanent release agent for operations requiring high slip, as in filament winding.
* Frekote FRP-NC polymer releasing interface for molding fiberglass boats, tubs, shower stalls, and cultured marble sinks. Suitable for RTM.
* Aqualine water-based products, providing performance equal to traditional solventbased release agents, are suited for molding rubber parts or composite parts from heated molds.

Three grades of low-build-up, spray-on mold releases available in 16-oz cans. All-purpose economical silicone grade provides dependable performance for most applications. Premium silicone grade for tougher sticking problems and FDA-approved for food industry applications. The third grade, a paintable mold release for parts to be painted, plated or hot-stamped. Silicone-free and suitable for use with PS and most other resins.
DOW CORNING CORP.
Silicone fluids, coatings, dispersions and emulsions as internal and external mold releases for use with most plastics, urethane, metal, and rubber mold materials.
Silicone fluids in a range of viscosities are essentially nontoxic and present a very low environmental hazard. Thermally stable and available in industrial, food, and medical grades.
Release coatings include quick-curing silicone resins, paintable materials, 100% silicone fluids and resin/fluid blends. Some products approved for food processing and packaging.
Dispersion products include room-temperature vulcanizing elastomers that cure to a tough, rubbery coating. Good release from sticky materials, and effective from -57 to 204 C.
Emulsions may be nonionic or anionic and can generally be applied by brushing, spraying or wiping. Offer good lubricity, stability and water-repellency. Used with acrylics, epoxies, elastomers and castings.

Krytox dry-film lubricants offer semi-permanent release properties in a variety of plastic and rubber molding applications and provide a highly nonstick surface, which is chemically inert, nonflammable, and thermally stable to 500 F. Krytox is a clear, ultra-low molecular weight, PTFE-based liquid dispersion that dries into a film. Krytox DF, DF/IPA and DF/W dispersions available as concentrates in 14 lb, isopropyl alcohol and water allowing user to customize the dispersion for ease of application and adequacy of coverage. Specially formulated, ready-to-use Krytox products also available as release agents for specific applications.

It is said to be nonflammable, odor- and color-free and to contain no silicones so that products can be painted, printed, or metallized without costly wash-up. Cachalot plastics additive S-53T3 higher-alcohol-based extrusion, casting, and calendering aid primarily for flexible PVC prevents plastic from sticking to molds and dies.
Michel XO-24 integral processing additive for use in resins such as linear PE and PVC. Components are FDA-approved for food-contact applications and can be used as a release agent inherent in its functions as an antistatic agent. Michel XO-24 improves mold release and de-staticizes without significantly reducing surface resistance of molded or cast resin.
