Mohawks determined to scalp the Warriors.

BASKETBALL TEES Valley Mohawks face a tough away game at Westminster Warriors this weekend.

It's a must-win game for the Teesside outfit, who are battling to avoid relegation.

Mohawks, under the new guidance of coach Jared Fulks, put in a much improved performance against Team Northumbria last weekend but slipped to a narrow defeat.

But, following another useful week of training, the team is adapting to the new ideas and offensive systems Fulks has put in place.

Mohawks lost to Westminster by an 11-point margin in the Teesside clash between the sides earlier this season but the new coach hopes his players this time respond to his methods by gaining a vital win.

He said: "This game is a like a four-pointer, we need to win to keep in touch with the rest of the teams in trouble.

"I firmly believe we will get the victories needed to secure Division One basketball next season and with the wins the confi-dence will come."

Mowhawks will be without Alex Moore and Ike Attah tomorrow but with five players available from the former Division Three squad, Fulks has plenty of options to choose from.

"Luckily I have these guys available and ready to battle the Division One squad for game time.

"It makes for competition for places and training has been competitive."
