Modern biological labs nurturing crop friendly pests.

MULTAN -- Eleven biological laboratories of Punjab agriculture department were engaged in breeding and nurturing crop friendly pests to save crops from enemy pests.

Agriculture spokesman said in a statement that these laboratories were equipped with modern machinery and staff deputed there underwent special training before taking over their assignment.

These friendly pests would be provided to farmers so that they can leave them in their crop fields with arrangements to keep their life out of the harms way to enable them fight and eat the enemy pests.

Agriculture department has declared Crysopa as the best suitable cotton friendly pest as it can kill and eat 329 Pupae of white fly, 288 Aphid and 100 Jassid.

Sensing its importance, agriculture department has improvised proceedings on breeding and nurturing of this pest for its free distribution among cotton farmers.

Moreover, another friendly pest Trychograma was also being nurtured at the laboratories. Both these pests eat enemy pests and thus keep crop safe.
