Model railway exhibition lined up.
A MODEL railway exhibition takes place in Northumberland next month.
The Aln Valley Railway is holding the event at its Lionheart station in Alnwick on Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6, opening at 10.30am on each day.
There will be 14 layouts on show including 'Marine Park Yard', displayed and operated by Les Paul, 'Cottingvale' from Jon Laws, and 'California Coast', brought to Alnwick by Simon Cahill and members of the Blyth and Tyne Model Railway Society.
The Newcastle Model Railway Society is exhibiting its layout 'Chertsey' and Mike Fishwick will operate his layout 'Dunelm', set in the British Railways diesel era.
Some Alnwick-based layouts will be exhibited publicly for the first time and there will be an opportunity for visitors to use their skills in a 'shunting puzzle' layout.
In addition, in the open air, Malcolm Foreman will be operating some 'live steam' gauge one models.
Several local traders will be in attendance selling model railway equipment and scenic materials, and there will be a number of static model displays.
Various railway societies and groups will be present.
