MoPH introduces licensing, accreditation programme to facility owners.
Tribune News Network Doha The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) recently organised an open day to introduce the National Healthcare Facilities Licensing and Accreditation Programme to owners and representatives of healthcare facilities. During the event, the mechanisms for licensing and accreditation of modern healthcare facilities based on best scientific practices in the area of facility safety and improving the quality of health care and patient safety services were explained. The Open Day is scheduled to be held in three phases. A general explanation of the outputs of the national programme was presented during the first phase. The second and third phases are scheduled to be held in the coming months with a focus on how to meet the national standards with the aim of raising awareness and strengthen communication with the owners of health facilities. Director of Healthcare Facilities Licensing and Accreditation Department at the ministry Dr Aisha Abdullah al Ali said,"The National Healthcare Facilities Licensing and Accreditation Programme is the first of its kind in the world that integrates licensing and accreditation of quality healthcare services." Dr Ali said the national programme features a variety of internationally-accredited training programmes to qualify health inspectors to become accredited inspectors qualified to evaluate health facilities by the best means. The Open Day featured some workshops and presentations by experts from the ministry.
