MoH accredits 4 e-school courses.

Four courses at Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University have recently been accredited by the continuous medical education department at the Ministry of Health in the UAE.

The courses are "Leadership and governance of healthcare organisations", "Healthcare quality: Role of professional regulations", "Strategic environmental assessment" and "Sustainable environmental policies: A global approach".

"We are very proud that four of our courses at the e-school of continuing education are accredited by the Ministry of Health," said Dr Mansoor Al Awar, vice chancellor of Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University. "This accreditation will make us work harder towards getting more courses of our e-school of continuing education accredited."

"It is our objective at Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University to provide unique educational programs, and build an infrastructure that meets the learner's ever-changing needs," he added.

The courses "Leadership and governance of healthcare organisations" and "Healthcare quality: Role of professional regulations" are open to healthcare professionals in the public sectors, ministry of health, municipalities, international health organisation, private health institutions and faculty researchers.

The "Healthcare quality: Role of professional regulations" course provides learners with an overview of the professional regulations, concepts and principles of quality improvement in the healthcare workplace, while the "Leadership and governance of healthcare organisations" tackles issues such as organizational behaviour and conflict resolution. It will also introduce the learners to theories and methods of leadership and governance.

The "Strategic environmental assessment" course and the "Sustainable environmental policies: A global approach" are open to personnel at Ministry of Environment and Water, international environmental organisations, municipalities, public and private institutions dealing with environment NGOs interested in environmental issues.

The former provides learners with knowledge on the global context of the strategic environmental assessment (SAE), procedure, legislation and guidance framework, and environmental impact assessment of projects. Concepts, principles and methodologies of SAE are developed to ensure that environmental considerations are integrated into strategic decision-making to achieve a sound environment and sustainable development.

The course "Sustainable environmental policies: A global approach" provides an overview of the importance of developing sustainable environmental policies. It also analyses the policy-making process that produces environmental policies, and emphasises the role of governmental institutions and international organizations in creating and implementing environmental policies, in addition to examining various environmental policies. -- TradeArabia News Service
