Mo Mowlam 'may quit'.

CABINET minister Mo Mowlam may quit at the next general election.

Labour's most popular politician is considering whether to stand down as MP for Redcar.

The former Northern Ireland Secretary has already said she'll quit as Cabinet Minister to concentrate on a new role with schoolchildren in Ulster.

Yesterday, her agent Keith Legg said Mowlam would make a decision "in the next couple of weeks".

Mowlam made little secret of her disappointment at being moved from the Ulster office and it was claimed she was the subject of a Westminster whispering campaign.
