Scope: A mixed-use development planned in Walnut Hills, Paramount Redevelopment Group LLC, a commercial real estate company that has been active in Walnut Hills for years, received approval from Cincinnati Planning Commission to change the zoning on four properties that would allow the developer to build a mixed-use development near the corner of East McMillan and May streets. Paramount Redevelopment Group is planning a mixed-use development, called May Square, at the southwest corner of May and Crown streets. The project is expected to include street-level, service-based retail and three floors of multifamily, workforce housing. The project also would include reactivating the currently vacant Body of Christ church at May and Crown streets. The total investment is expected to be about $15 million. The proposed project would include about 40 apartments and roughly 7,000 square feet of commercial space. During the City Planning Commission meeting, Kulkarni said he is working with someone to add a co-working space in the former church at 2521 May St. There, residents of the neighborhood would be able to rent out space for meetings and other events at little to no cost. Solica Construction Inc. would serve as the construction manager. Synthesis Architecture is the architect for May Square. The plan is to have design work completed on May Square in June with a groundbreaking around the end of the third quarter. Construction is expected to take about 12 months, with the project delivering at the end of the third quarter 2020.
