Mitsubishi Materials, Mitsubishi Corp. Builds Cement Plant in China.

Tokyo, Japan, Sept 14, 2005 - (JCNN) - Mitsubishi Materials and Mitsubishi Corp. have constructed a cement plant at Lianyungang Mitsubishi Cement Company, a cement production joint venture the two companies established in Jiangsu, China, in September 2004.

The joint venture will produce cement, which complies with the Chinese standard, by adding fry ash procured locally to cement to be supplied by Mitsubishi Materials' Kyushu plant as well as other cement makers.

The joint Mitsubishi group company invested 600 million yen ($5.5 mil) in the construction of the new plant. It expects to ship 30,000 tons of cement annually in the future.
