Missouri cowboy poetry books distributed to local libraries.

Books of poetry written by Missouri "cowboys" are to be distributed to libraries in every Missouri county.

The Missouri Cowboys Poets Association recently delivered 170 copies of their poetry books to the Missouri State Library, with members dressed up in cowboy clothing.

Leroy Watts, founding member of the association and editor of the book 'Missouri Cowboy Poetry', says that a cowboy poet is anyone who is a "cowboy at heart" and writes poems in rhyming, metered verse.

The cowboy poems are reportedly often humorous, narrative verses that celebrate the natural beauty and history of Missouri.
